Purplicious!

My girls share a room in the apartment and even though we have a extra room in this house they still want to be together. They are both really excited to get a new room and they both wanted it to be PURPLE! Actually Molly wanted a purple room and Sadie just goes along with whatever Molly says.

The counters got installed today and I love them. I am so happy that the kitchen is done!!!!! I just need to finish the painting!

Here comes the sun.

We went to Ikea and the girls loved this light. So we got it and put in the play room.

I think the contractor thought I was crazy when I gave it to him to put up.

It actually looks really cute but it is a bit lopsided so he needs to fix that today.

The girls sporting their new Ikea hats and flower mask!

Tale of a Sconce...

This is one of the four sconces that came with the house in our living room. You are probably wondering why I would want to swap out these beauty's? Who knows these might be worth a ton on antique roadshow.

Here are the new ones! I am so excited that my cousin Sara found them for me. I searched high and low and they were discontinued everywhere. My very generous Uncle Jeff and Uncle Mark got all four for me as a house warming gift. Thank you so much I really love them!!!

Almost done!

We are up and running right now except for the Gas. That has to be inspected because it hasn't been on for a year. I am thinking we will be moving in in about two weeks. We are still going to have a lot to do once we move in but I can't wait to be living there. The painting starts next week (Thanks Monka)! The contractor told me I could paint a few rooms which I did and then he went and fixed all the walls with plaster which is great but covered up most of my paint job. I honestly don't know why he had me paint. It was a huge waist of time!

Sorry there are so many pics of the bathroom. It is hard to get all the angles. It still needs to be painted and the floor needs a good bleach.

When I walked in the house the other night I was so disappointed with this sink and faucet. The pic really doesn't show how bad it is! It is hooked up with PVC piping right now so it passes inspection but being ripped out once my new sink and faucet arrive next week.

My chandelier for over the kitchen table.

My faucet!

The fridge is not blue. Molly was sad when she found out that it is a sticker covering the stainless.

Hard to get good help!

We have been looking into getting a cleaning service to clean the house before we move things in. The place is gross from the demo of the walls. Be honest I was thinking of hiring this lady but do you think this is illegal? Her price is great!

The Barometer lights

Here is the fridge cabinets with the light fixture installed. We also got the up doors on the cabinets on. We were suppose to do the doors on the 88" cabinets today but ran into some issues. Andrew has to run to Ikea tomorrow night and pick up some missing hardware. We should have them up by the end of this week hopefully.

Cabinet doors are almost up.

Before

They stuck the dishwasher in between the two lower cabinets until the plumber gets here tomorrow. The oven goes in tomorrow so I will try and get a pic when this part is complete minus the counters. It took us about three hours to put on these doors this weekend. Very frustrating trying to get them so they are both even and matching.

The Swing Set or should I say Park!

Here is the swing set! We have to cut down the huge bush in the spring that is on the corner of the porch or the kids will dive right into it coming out of the slide! I hope the neighbors are not in love with their pine trees behind the swings! We also had to take one of the two slides off since it was going to be on the neighbors property. The Griswolds have moved in!!!!

The Full Bath!

The Tub is in, the linen closet needs to be built still and the toilet, sink, and medicine cabinets still needs to go in. I painted this room also before things were installed. I picked Benjamin Moore Sweet Caroline. My parents have this color in their bathroom at their house and I love it, but I also love the name because my niece is named Caroline. The color is much lighter in my bathroom than my parents but I still really like it. White beadboard is going to cover the ugly tile that is showing still.

Kitchen

The new walls are completely up and I also did painting in here before the cabinets were installed. I love the color I picked for this room the best. It is Palladian Blue by Benjamin Moore or as my Mother would like to call it "Lady In Blue"! I only painted parts of the room because the cabinets, molding, and beadboard will cover the parts not painted.
You can sort of see the floors but there is red saw dust all over the place so it is hard to see.

This corner is where the broom closet is going. The wall that is sticking out is the wall we put up for the half bath which is on the other side.

The wall on the left is the half bath wall and the wall on the right is going to be my oven and cabinets. You can see the wood floor in this pic.

We made the entrance into the kitchen from the dining room wider and took the radiator from the upstairs bath and put it in the kitchen under the window. The fridge and pantry cabinets will be to the right of the radiator.

This is the wall again with my oven, cabinets, and microwave.

This is the back wall with a new wider door that swings out so we could fit the cabinets and fridge. The sink, dishwasher and 15"drawers will go under the window.

Updated Pics of Half Bath

This use to be a entrance into the kitchen. We put up two walls and made it into a tiny half bath.

The half bath walls are up and I finished painting it this weekend. The toilet and sink is going in at the end of this week. When I left today the molding was being put up and the floor was finished this morning. I painted it Summer Shower by Benjamin Moore.
