So these are the two sconces I am thinking of for my family room. Let me know your thoughts on which ones you like better. I have to measure my wall to ceiling for the silver ones because they are 18". I don't want my house to look like a medieval times feast

Just got a email from my Dad that the sconces are not available:(

Sconces

I have been searching all over for sconces! I had no idea how complicated this was going to be picking everything out. I finally found a sconce that I love love love, but they are discontinued and I am having a really hard time trying to track them down. My parents are buying them for us a house warming gift and the 1st place that they ordered them from came back three days later saying sorry we don't have them in stock and can't get them. So we found another place that said they had 10 in inventory. Well they were suppose to ship within 48 hours and it has been a week and we haven't gotten a shipping confirmation so I am starting to panic.

The kids play room. We have moved some toys over already so the kids can play while we put cabinets together.

My ugly fireplace that my Dad is going to help do a make over on.

Living Room filled with the ikea cabinets that we have to put together. It is a narrow room but not as narrow as this pic makes it look.

Hallway. The door you see straight ahead goes into the kitchen. We are making that the half bath so the only entrance into the kitchen is through the dining room.

This is the dining room that we are going to use as a casual dining room since we can not fit a table in our kitchen. I love the built in china cabinet.

This sink to the left is the new sink that we picked up off of craigs list for $40.

Demo has started.....

This is the kitchen. We have a wall that divides a tiny mud room and on the other side a butlers pantry. We are taking down that wall to make the kitchen a bit bigger and adding a half bath on the opposite side of the kitchen. We are working on a budget so I went to Ikea and picked out my cabinets. They really have some great stuff but the downside is you have to put it together.

We have a house!

So now we have the house but there is a ton of work that must get done before we move in and my husband is not the handy type and we are on a tight budget.

There is only one bathroom in the house and it is a mess! I won't let the kids in it, seriously it is that gross. There really isn't a kitchen, and we have to get creative and figure out a spot to add a half bath.
