Hallway finished
It took me about a week total to prime, caulk, and paint the hallway. The wood was really dark so it took two coats of primer and two coats of paint. I picked a tan from Benjamin Moore called Hush.
Here is the final product. I still have to do the tiny entry way and the hallway upstairs but that is going to have to wait because I need a break!

Christmas in April!
When the gas company came to turn the gas on in January it took about four hours and six guys to figure out that the line was cut. I had no idea what that meant but apparently it means we would have to have a new pipe installed from the street to the house and it wouldn't and couldn't be done until April! Thankfully our heat is oil and our dryer is electric, but my oven is gas! I had no idea how hard it was going to be trying to cook with a microwave and crock pot for three months!
My line is going in today! I can't wait to actually be able to cook normal food again.
Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spring Cleaning and Spring Vacation are like oil and water.
I decided to get motivated this morning and start cleaning. This girls are on vacation this week and were playing in the playroom so it was the perfect time to start. I did my sisters trick with setting a timer for 15 minutes in each room. I was able to finish the kitchen and vacuum the rug and wood floors in the dining room. Ms. S decided she was hungry and helped herself to some goldfish about five minutes after I finished cleaning those two rooms. The really frustrating thing about this is I have a dog but apparently goldfish doesn't tempt her palate!
Is it bad that I just ate a few off the floor?

The hallway
The next big project is the hallway. I am posting some pre pics now and will post the after when it is done which will probably be in about four years at the rate we are going. There is so much painting to do that I get overwhelmed just looking at it.
One of my favorite things about the hallway is the window at the top of the stairs. My father gave me one of his treasured stained glass windows he made years ago and it looks perfect hanging there. It really makes such a fantastic statement when you walk in. Don't you agree? I mean who wasn't a fan of the A Team. (For all of the fans I believe a A Team movie is coming out this summer. We all know John will be there on opening night)!
Just kidding but this really cracks me up and I think I would hang it up when certain guests came over just to see their reaction if I had it! Here is what I really have.

Master Bedroom
Here is some pics of the Master Bedroom. I did the wall color in Benjamin Moore Beach Glass. The bedding is Pottery Barn Sydney Palampore. I still need to get one more european sham for the center pillow but haven't had a chance to get back to Pottery Barn.
When we moved we upgraded our bed from a Queen to a King and I am not sure why we didn't do this sooner! There are two problems with the king though. The first problem is I had to put our bed frame that matched the furniture in the guest room. I want to get a matching headboard at some point but we have so much more to do in the house that it will just have to wait. Second problem is our nightstands are too wide for the wall. Only one fits and I currently have a plant stand on the other side. It works for now but want to change this at some point also.
I haven't the slightest clue on what to do for the window treatments in this room. Any suggestions?
